Tamar Braxton Opens Up on Mother Evelyn’s Health on ‘BFV’ Season 5
The five Braxton sisters returned to reality TV on May 19 with the Braxton Family Values Season 5 premiere.
This year, the siblings face a huge hurdle when their mother, Evelyn Braxton, reveals her health problems with diabetes took a turn for the worse and she suffered a mini stroke.
Ahead of the episode, little sis Tamar Braxton teased what fans could expect from the WEtv show, and gave a little insight on her 68-year-old mother’s health — and her feelings on the situation.
“She hasn't been in the best of health the last couple months,”the 38-year-old singer told InStyle, adding that her single mom is all alone, “and that's one thing that we all worry about ... her being home by herself.”
“She usually takes care of herself and she's up and about—but recently she's faced some challenges where she shouldn't be by herself. And as her kids, we're here to take care of her,” she continued.
But as loving as it sounds, it’s actually a cause of contention between the sisters since the Atlanta sisters — Towanda and Trina Braxton — think their mother should reside closer to them, while the Love & War crooner and older sis Toni Braxton want their mom to move to Los Angeles.
“Toni and myself want her to be in LA. because we feel like we can take better care of her and keep a closer eye,” she said. “[In Georgia,] Trina and Towanda live an hour away from her.”
Though fans won’t know where Miss E will eventually live — you’ll have to tune in to find out — it’s great to know the matriarch is well loved by her children.
Braxton Family Values airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on WEtv.
