Despite being deemed the “star” of his hit Atlanta-based reality TV show, things aren’t looking too good for former Bad Boy producer Stevie J. According to reports, the “hit maker” (real name Steven Jordan) allegedly owes over $1.2 million dollars in back child support.
Reps for Carol Bennett, Stevie’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of two of his daughters, tell All Hip Hop that they will be targeting all of Stevie’s assets to obtain the missing money for this “historical” case.
And sadly, that’s not all.
Under the 1992 Child Support Recovery Act, it is a crime to leave a state owing more than $10,000 for more than 2 years. RadarOnline reports that in 2010, an arrest warrant was issued to Stevie with the New York City Police Department because of the owed money, but the arrest warrant was discharged without payment.
Now the case is being re-evaluated, Stevie can face jail time for failing to pay over 20 times the amount over the 14 years and now residing in Georgia, where he films Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.
In a recent radio interview, Stevie claimed that he was once again on top, making tons of money, after squaring off a few tax debts since leaving Bad Boys, but it looks like his money woes are ongoing. He has yet to comment on the child support allegations.
