Family Targeted in Recent Motorcycle Gang Attack Speaks Out (VIDEO)

A family of three was recently targeted by a large gang of motorcyclists outside of New York City after the driver of a Range Rover drove over several bikes to escape an altercation. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Alexian Lien, was taken to a nearby hospital following the brutal attack with slashes to his face and chest and two black eyes, according to the New York Post.

Following this incident, facts from several news sources have been corrected and several new details have emerged, including a statement from Rosalyn Ng, Lien’s wife, which, according to Today, reads:

Our plan last Sunday was to celebrate our wedding anniversary by having a nice family day out with our two-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, instead, we were placed in grave danger by a mob of reckless and violent motorcyclists.

Our sympathies go out to the injured motorcyclist and his family. However, we were faced with a life-threatening situation, and my husband was forced under the circumstances to take the actions that he did in order to protect the lives of our entire family. Our fear for our lives was confirmed when this incident ended with the ruthless and brutal attack on my husband, me, and most importantly, our two-year-old child. We know in our hearts that we could not have done anything differently and we believe that anyone faced with this sort of grave danger would have taken the same course of action in order to protect their family.

We have to say that we probably would’ve done the same thing if we were faced with this family’s situation, but instead of coming to a stop on an exit, we probably would’ve called the police while driving and had a trooper or two escort our family safely away from the gang. A detour definitely beats an opportunity for enraged bikers to attack our family.

Although it’s interesting to note that a separate New York Post article said that cops are actually instructed not to directly chase after large biker gangs like this, given their ability to jump sidewalks and endanger pedestrians in an attempt to flee the law. We wonder if this would prevent police from intervening at all to provide escort or otherwise in tussles like this one, for fear of being outnumbered.

What would you have done in this situation, if your family was clearly in danger?
