Mama Joyce went and started a Twitter account after her daughter Kandi Burruss warned her against it for fear that people would be too mean — but so far we think Ms. Joyce has held her own on the social media site.
Just days into her Twitter journey, Joyce has already amassed upwards of 2,100 followers. Though her five tweets thus far consist mainly of quotes, we have a feeling Joyce might have a thing or two to say after Sunday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
And even though she’s relatively new to Twitter, Mama Joyce is no stranger to the popular site. In fact, she was trending on Twitter for several days late last year after she attacked Kandi’s friend Carmon with a shoe as Kandi tried on wedding dresses earlier this season. Sure, that’s not the greatest thing to trend for, but clearly Joyce has put herself of the social media map.
Still, Kandi worries that some mean-spirited followers might decide to attack her mama, and she’s doing everything she can to make sure that doesn’t happen. On January 15, Kandi took to her Instagram page to share a new picture of her mom — who is looking fabulous, by the way — and shared a message about how she wants her mama to be treated.
In the photo’s caption Kandi wrote, “My mom did an interview on @HLNtv yesterday & she looked beautiful! She's on twitter now. Follow her @themamajoyce... I told her twitter can be mean but prove me wrong y'all & please show her love!”
So far the comments on Kandi’s Instagram post have been a mixed bag, with some people welcoming Joyce and admiring the photo, while others have called her “mean.” In the interview Kandi references Joyce talks about where she stands with Todd now and if she has any plans to come back for another season of RHoA.
