Did The Bachelor Ratings Rise When Andi Fell Out of Love With Juan Pablo?
Last night on The Bachelor, we watched Juan Pablo Galavis try an act of contortion as he attempted (briefly) to remove his foot from his mouth with Andi Dorfman. It didn’t go great for them, and she fled the show. But oftentimes, disasters lead to great television, and people love watching relationships crash and burn.
So, did his February 25 Fantasy Suites date set a record for more than just number of times Juan Pablo said the word “OK”? According to TVbytheNumbers, notsomuch. The second part of ABC’s back-to-back Bachelor episodes this week got nearly the exact same numbers as Hometown Dates.
With a 2.5 rating and 7 ratings share in the 18-49 demographic, they were tied with the previous night’s score, though fewer people tuned in overall: 8.13 million on Tuesday vs. 8.17 million on Monday.
We’re surprised that more TV lovers weren’t interested in whether JPG would sleep with Nikki Ferrell and Clare Crawley. Then again, it could have something to do with The Voice’s first two episodes of the season competing for fans. The NBC singing show grabbed a 3.7 rating/11 ratings share and pulled 13.04 million viewers. Weird that people would want to watch future chart-toppers show off instead of seeing Juan Pablo strip down… wait, no it isn’t.
