For some of us, the holiday season is the time we get most nostalgic — those family-focused months between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. But, as we learned this week, former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham gets most reflective during Memorial Day weekend.

Though the actual weekend has yet to begin, Farrah appears to be starting early, taking to Keek to send her fans well wishes, and getting a little emotional in the process.

“There’s a lot to be thankful for in May,” the Couples Therapy star begins. “Whether you’re back home for the summer visiting your family, like I am… Good, bad, life’s changes. I mean, it’s been pretty crazy this month in May.”

So what is it about this month that has Farrah so vulnerable? Just thinking back on the loss of her daughter Sophia’s father, Derek Underwood — who was killed in a drunk driving accident in December 2008, just months before the now 5 year old was born.

“Remembering Sophia’s dad, my ex that passed away,” the reality star muses wistfully. “And also my family is getting older and it’s kind of sad. Don’t forget all the other memories to remember in Memorial Day month.”

While we didn’t know there was a Memorial Day month (seriously, is that a thing?), we are glad that Farrah is taking the time to appreciate all that she has and spend time with her family. Happy Memorial Day, girl!
