Emily Maynard and Fiancé Adopt Little Boy, Nash, After He’s Abandoned
Season 8 Bachelorette Emily Maynard is like the patron saint of lost causes, something she might have learned a bit about while doling out roses to suitors who barely warranted a daisy (sorry, daisies). But in the latest turn of Saint Emily, she and fiancé Tyler Johnson are welcoming a new little boy into their fold.
Emily posted about her sweet new family member, Nash Johnson, on her lifestyle and fashion website, EmilyMaynard.com. According to Em, who got engaged to Tyler back in January, her new man is a little bit of a softie when it comes to animals — just like she is! On a recent trip to South Carolina, Charlotte resident Tyler found a little puppy in the middle of nowhere and couldn’t resist taking him home.
We don’t know how, but for some reason, Ms. Maynard wasn’t exactly excited about having another member of what she calls her “menagerie.” Writes Em, “My reaction was a mix of, ‘Have I been drugged? There’s no way he’s serious and there’s actually a dog in my driveway,’ to ‘He’s cute, but when are his owners going to be here to pick up him because he’s not staying with us.’”
But when Emily looked at Nash, she knew that she had to take care of him. “His fur was matted with goodness knows what, you could see every bone in his body, and you could tell his poor paws were in bad shape as well.” At first, she thought they’d just be a foster family, but somehow in the middle of things, they bonded.
Now, they’ve ordered a monogrammed bed and he’s a full-fledged Maynard-Johnson child. Emily lost kitty Holly Bear back in February, so we hope that Nash will be the perfect filler for that furry place in her heart.
