Emily Maynard and Fiancé Tyler Johnson: A Relationship Timeline
The Season 8 Bachelorette has done her best to stay out of the spotlight since breaking off her engagement with 2012 winner, Jef Holm, over a year ago. So unless you frequently follow reality star news, you might not have even know she and Tyler had started dating.
As it turns out, Emily and fellow Charlotte, North Carolina resident Tyler have known each other for a while. And they met at church, which is pretty much the opposite of meeting at Bachelor Mansion. So while Tyler’s private nature means we don’t know all the details of their love story, there are plenty of things we do know. Here’s a look back over Tyler and Em’s relationship so far.
Sometime Before Either September 2010 or March 2012
Emily says she and Tyler met in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, before she went on “the show.” The thing is, we’re not sure if she’s talking about the The Bachelor, which she started filming in September 2010, or The Bachelorette, which she began shooting in March 2012. Either way, Em and Tyler lived in the same city and attended the same church, but didn’t ever date.

I met him far before I did the show.” We learn that the relationship has been going on for several months.

Or had they just not decided to make their relationship official yet? Remember, she still hadn’t used the word “dating” to describe their relationship yet...
