Fifty Shades of Grey Casting: THIS Star Had “Really Good Read” for Christian — Report
The sweepstakes to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey is tightening up — and apparently a certain star is now in the lead after a great audition.
Numerous names have been tossed around as being in contention for the coveted male lead in the film, but E! Online is now reporting that Once Upon a Timehottie Jamie Dornan is the current frontrunner after a stellar read-through with producers.
"He had a really good read today," a source says on October 18.
So is this bad news for the myriad other guys who are said to be in the running, including Luke Bracey, Christian Cooke, Scott Eastwood, Alexander Skarsgard, and fan faves Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder? It sure sounds that way.
But what is Jamie's chemistry like with Dakota Johnson, who has already been cast as Anastasia Steele? Apparently, that's not a big concern. "The studio isn't worried about Dakota," says the source. "They think she could handle whoever the guy is."
Frankly, we're pretty excited about the prospect of Jamie Dornan in the title role of Fifty Shades. The dude was great in playing a sexy authority figure as Sheriff Graham on OUAT, so he definitely has what it takes to fill Christian's suits.
Regardless of who gets the role, the studio needs to choose someone quickly, as the film begins production in early November to make its August 1, 2014, release date.
But what do you think? Do you hope Jamie gets it, or are you crossing your fingers for someone else?
