Rob hosted a Great Gatsby-themed party at his home on June 22, and Fifty Shades of Grey novelist E.L. James was among the attendees at the star-studded bash.
Now, word has gotten out that Rob and E.L. were busy discussing the role of Christian Grey, according to OK!.
"Rob and E.L. were in deep conversation," a source reveals.
Rob even told the novelist that playing Christian "could be a way to break away from being Edward the rest of his life," an insider reports.
"Rob also joked that it would be the best acting of his life, because there is no way he is that confident in real life," a partygoer adds.
At one point, Rob apparently told E.L. that he would need to clean up his scruffy look, but E.L. wasn't sure if he would need to.
"E.L. said that was still up for debate — if he signed on," says the source.
Wow! It sounds like they were having quite the serious conversation about the role.
This is an interesting development, as E.L. had previously said she wanted to distance the films from Twilight by not casting anyone from the vampire flicks.
So would Rob make the perfect Christian Grey, or will you be fit to be tied if you gets the part?
