Ian Somerhalder in Fifty Shades of Grey: Olga Fonda Says He’d Be Perfect

Fans around the world have been rallying for Ian Somerhalder to replace Charlie Hunnam in Fifty Shades of Grey as titular kinky billionaire Christian Grey, and now it looks like his Vampire Diaries co-stars are jumping in with their thoughts, too.

When new cast member Olga Fonda (Nadia) chatted with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, he asked if she’d heard anything about his potential casting. While unfortunately she didn’t know any details, she noted he’d be perfect for the role after reading all of the books herself.

Olga didn’t say that she pictured Ian as Christian when she was reading the erotic novels, but she did talk about how nervous she was to meet everyone in general after being cast.

“I was a little bit nervous when I just got on set, you know?” she told Ryan. ”I had to be like the new kid on the block, but the minute I set my foot on that set everybody was so wonderful and so welcoming that they made me very, very comfortable and I feel part of the family.”

Ain’t no family like a TVD family. What do you think about Olga’s comments about Ian and the vibe of the set? Sound off below!
