The producers of Fifty Shades of Grey are reportedly going down under for their new Christian Grey. Australian actor Luke Bracey is at the head of the pack of hunks vying to replace Charlie Hunnam in the role, according to an Us Weekly report.

“Luke is at the top of the list,” a source tells the magazine after a steamy screen test with lead actress Dakota Johnson caught the attention of Fifty Shades producers.

Does Luke have what it takes to fill the leather bondage equipment left vacant by Charlie? It sure sounds like it. The 24-year-old (if you’re counting, that’s nine years younger than 33-year-old Charlie) got his start as Trey Palmer on the Australian soap opera, Home and Away. You may also recognize him as Riley from the romantic comedy Monte Carlo, which starred two of young Hollywood’s hottest: Leighton Meester and Selena Gomez.

Onscreen chemistry translated to real life love for Charlie and Leighton, who were spotted getting cozy after filming the 2011 film. The same might be true for Charlie and Selena, who, according to Us Weekly, were spotted holding hands at a 2013 Golden Globes after-party.

Could sparks fly on and off camera for Luke and Dakota, too? This is Fifty Shades we’re talking about, after all.

What do you think? Is Luke the new Christian or should they keep looking? Sound off in the comments below.
