Let us rejoice, as sexy to the max 31-year-old Jamie Dornan has been cast to replace Charlie Hunnam in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. But while we’re sure we’ll get to know him in a biblical sense (vicariously, unfortunately) before long, we thought it might be nice to dig through the bones in Jamie’s closet to get to know the future Christian Grey.
1. He’s Not From Around These Parts
Though he played a small town sheriff on Once Upon a Time in Storybrooke, Maine, Jamie comes from Hollywood! Well, the town of Hollywood in County Down, Northern Ireland. Fans heard him show off his accent on the show, but Christian Grey was born in Detroit, Michigan and lives in Seattle, Washington, so it’s unlikely we’ll catch that lilt on the big screen.
2. This Isn’t the First Time He’ll Ditch the Clothes For Money
Even if you haven’t heard of him, this isn’t the first time someone has asked him to strip down for money! He previously showed off his insanely fit figure for Calvin Klein, and for that we’ll be eternally grateful. If this shot is any indication of what Dakota has in store for her, then we’ll gladly take her place should any “scheduling conflicts” arise.
3. He’s Married, Sorry Ladies
Well, this might be awkward. Though we’re sure both Jamie and Dakota are true professionals, we’re thinking spouse of five months Amelia Warner might want to steer clear of the set — at least, during the more S&M moments, that is. Although she’s sort of in the industry, as an actress and singer-songwriter, we imagine it can’t be easy to watch your brand new hubby get down and dirty with another woman. Especially knowing how dirty Christian gets...
4. He Dated Keira Knightley
Though he’s found a girl and he’s married now, there was a time when he was the knight to Keira’s, uh, Knightley. From 2003-2005, to be exact.
5. He’s Going to Be a Father Soon!
In June 2013, the Belfast Telegraph reported that Jamie and Amelia are expecting their first child! Jamie’s stepmom, who is an obstetrics and gynecology consultant, is reportedly “delighted” about the news, telling the local paper that the “early well-being scanning was a beautiful and emotional experience.”
