Paul Wesley’s New Film, Before I Disappear, Gets North American Distribution!

Have you been as desperate to see Paul Wesley’s new indie film Before I Disappear as we have? Well, you’re in luck. The Vampire Diaries star’s flick has been picked up by IFC Films for distribution in North America. Huzzah!

The film, which is the first feature from Oscar-winning short film director and feature writer Shawn Christensen, won the Audience Award for Narrative Feature at SXSW earlier this year. “Congrats to the cast and crew of @B4IDisappear Winners of the #SXSW audience award. @dreamsick @perlmutations @FatimaPtacek @emmyrossum,” Paul tweeted after the big announcement, obviously excited to be part of the project. The film is scheduled to make its international premiere at the Venice Film Festival later this month.

This is the first feature from Shawn, who also stars in the movie. He won an Oscar for his short, “Curfew,” last year. According to the IMDB page, the plot for Before I Disappear is as follows: “At the lowest point of his life, Richie gets a call from his estranged sister, asking him to look after his eleven-year old niece, Sophia, for a few hours.” Paul plays the supporting role of Gideon alongside Shameless star Emmy Rossum, The West Wing’s Richard Schiff. Basically, everyone in this movie excites us. We’re so glad to hear it has found a distribution, and to know that Paul is finding success outside of TVD.
