The Originals Is Filming at Grand Opera House — Get Ready For Another Flashback!
The Originalsis heading to the opera — well, at least to the Grand Opera House in Macon, Georgia. The historic site was commandeered this week by the television series to play host to an upcoming scene. What does this tell us about an upcoming episode of our favorite supernatural drama?
According to Macon’s The Telegraph, “Most of the extras for Wednesday’s shoot were dressed in tuxedos and 1920s flapper-style costumes,” which implies a flashback scene set in the late 1910s or 1920s. In Season 1, Episode 8 (“The River in Reverse”), Cami does her research and finds a newspaper clipping of Klaus and Marcel attending a party in 1919. The headline: “Toast of the Town Come Out in Droves for World Premiere of New Piece at French Opera House.” Will we actually get to see the party this picture was taking at? It certainly sounds like it given that, according to the article, more than 100 extras were cast for the scene.
This could be a pivotal scene in The Originals mythology. We’re still trying to figure out the exact timeline of when and how Marcel and Rebekah lured Mikael to town. Their plan couldn’t have gone exactly as planned, could it have? Otherwise, wouldn’t Rebekah and Marcel have ended up together, king and queen of the French Quarter empire? Instead, all of the Mikaelsons were driven from town, and we’re eager to discover how everything went down. How close to the exodus was this opera house party? Was Rebekah there, too? We’re dying to find out!
What do you think went down at the opera house? And why did Rebekah leave New Orleans with her family? Did Marcel betray her? Sound off in the comments below!
The Originals returns on Tuesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
