Andi Dorfman’s Mystery Letter Written by Nick Viall — What Did It Say? (UPDATE)
UPDATE 10:00 p.m. EST:
Well, it's official — Andi Dorfman picked Josh Murray in the Season 10 Finale of The Bachelorette, and Nick Viall is not taking it well. (Neither is his mom, for that matter). And now we know for sure that the letter Andi received in the finale was from Tricky Nicky. While we totally get writing a letter to air our feelings (we seriously have a whole “letters of feelings” drawer), Nick may have taken it a step too far.
Chris Harrison tells us that Nick didn't stop with simply writing his feels for the Dorf down in black and white. He also enlisted the host in trying to get Andi to talk to him, and when Andi said “thanks, no thanks” to a meet up, Nick then asked if he could be a third wheel on her vacay to Mexico (with Josh, BTW). Andi said, “nada” but Nick still WANTED ANSWERS so he showed up at the Men Tell All special, hoping for a 1-on-1.
While we kind of don't think Andi's been all that fair to the guy — breaking his heart then cutting off all contact — we gotta say it seems like he's veering into stalker territory. One of the producers, Robert Mills, seems to agree. During the first half of the show, Robert tweeted "I love how in real life what we're doing would be tantamount to forcing someone to confront their stalker after a restraining order." #Truth
ORIGINAL STORY 1:00 p.m. EST:Well boys and girls, it’s finally here — the season finale of Andi Dorfman’s stint as Bachelorette draws to a close tonight, and the episode promises to be an emotional one! All last week, ABC pumped out promos showing a dramatic moment in which Chris Harrison hands Andi a letter “from the one she didn’t choose.” Ever since, we’ve been biting our nails wondering who it was from and what it said. Now producers have answered our prayers — by posting it to Facebook! So is the letter all the network has pumped it up to be? Kind of... but maybe not.
The note is heartfelt and long and does issue a plea for Andi to reconsider her choice, reading “I realize I have to move on and I mean it when I say that if you’re truly happy with your decision and I haven’t been a thought on your mind, then I want that happiness to continue for you. If I have to move on, I will look to find amazing with someone else know that someday I will. I just know I would much rather turn my life upside down and risk it all to have amazing with you.“
Awwww. But is the letter quite as dramatic to the episode as ABC wants us to believe? According to the promo, the contents contained within make Andi rethink her choice and possibly pull a Jason Mesnick, aka, taking the Final Rose back from winner Melissa Rycroft and giving it to the runner up, Molly Maloney, now Molly Mesnick.
But according to all our intel, that’s not happening — Andi’s happy with her choice and the letter doesn’t change that.
So who does Andi pick and who’s the letter from?
Warning: Spoilers ahead, stop reading if you don’t want to know who gets Andi’s Final Rose tonight!
Read the letter in its full context and it’s pretty clear it’s from Nick Viall. The writer references his relationship with Andi being “the road less traveled,” which is the opposite of what Andi’s relationship with Josh Murray has been all season. Josh’s problem has always been that he’s too much of Andi’s type and represents the road too often traveled.
But more than that, the letter references specific dates and moments the duo shared, including “everything about Venice, our walk in Belgium, that moment in the monastery.” Nick and Andi had a 1-on-1 in Venice, he stole her away for a private walk at night in Belgium, and he scored the Group Date Rose when Andi and some guys visited a monastery. Josh was nowhere near the monastery date.
So why would ABC reveal the letter ahead of the finale? We’re assuming it can only be to stir rumors that Nick’s letter may be enough to sway Andi out of Josh’s arms and back into his. Think it’ll work? Read the full letter below and then tune in tonight to find out!
