After watching the “mind-blowing” show with his fiancée Catherine Guidici, Sean hit the after party at Mixology 101 in Los Angeles on May 20, 2013, where he sipped on Don Benito Tequila cocktails — and dished to Wetpaint Entertainment about his winner predictions!
Read on to see what Sean had to say about the four finalists, including what he thought was the “most beautiful dance anyone has performed all season,” his favorite freestyle, and a few comments about his experience on DWTS.
Wetpaint Entertainment: What was your favorite part about the show tonight? Sean Lowe: I enjoy watching all the performers because the Final Four are so good at what they do. I really loved Aly and Mark’s futuristic dance that they did — it was mind-blowing — and then Kellie and Derek’s was probably the most beautiful dance anyone has performed all season.
What was your favorite freestyle? Well, Aly and Mark’s... their freestyle.
What was your favorite dance to perform? My favorite dance? Probably the Quickstep. I think I scored the highest on the Quickstep and it kind of came easy to me.
What part about it? Everything! No, seriously dancing is so hard and the hours were very demanding. I was spending eight to ten hours rehearsing every day. But dancing is so foreign to me; nothing came easy. It just took an incredible amount of work to just look decent. So it was all tough.
What is your favorite DWTS memory? I don’t know if I have one memory! I mean, anytime I performed and the judges gave me good feedback was always nice. But I think the camaraderie that I built with the other celebrities, that was the part I didn’t expect. It was so much fun and now I’ve got lifelong friendships with these people.
So it wasn’t all just competition? It wasn’t competitive at all; that was surprising. I think we all wanted each other to perform the best we could. If you dance well, the scores are going to reflect it and it’s all going to come out the way it’s supposed to — and I think it has.
Now for the tough question: Who do you think is going to win? After tonight, I think it’s between Kellie and Zendaya just based off scores. I was kind of pulling for Aly; I still am pulling for Aly. Aly is such a sweetheart she’s kind of like a little sister to me now, so maybe her fans are going to step up and she’ll make up that gap that she has with points. But just based off points alone, Zendaya or Kellie.
