Finn and Rachel’s Relationship Will Remain “Central” to Glee
Glee star Cory Monteith (Finn) is sadly no longer with us, but he is clearly not forgotten. Indeed, Glee's producers say that Finn and Rachel's (Lea Michele) connection still remains crucially important to the show.
Glee co-creator Ian Brennan tells Hollywood Reporter that it's tough to know when it's right to give Rachel a new love interest. "It's tricky — I still think that's in flux," Ian says. "We know the direction we want to take it, but it's going to be a growing concern feeling that out as to when that's appropriate, whether that is even germane."
"We were just talking about how Finn and Rachel is the closest relationship on the show, and that remains even after Cory and Finn's death," he continues. "That's heavy on our hearts all the time, and it's important to keep that central to not only the character, but the show."
We think it's awesome that Glee continues to keep Cory's memory alive, and we admire that the producers have yet to push Rachel into a new relationship. In fact, perhaps our favorite part about this week's episode was hearing Finn's voice as Mr. Schue left the choir room for the last time.
Do you think it's time for Rachel to start dating again yet?
