Flavor Flav Pleads Guilty in Domestic Violence Case
Just months following Flavor Flav’s January arrest for driving with a suspended license, the former Flavor of Love star has pled guilty to a domestic abuse charge involving the teenage son of his longtime girlfriend, according to the Huffington Post.
So what did Flav, whose given name is William Drayton, Jr., admit to? In court, he stated that he is guilty of chasing the now 18-year-old around with a kitchen knife, threatening to kill him and then stabbing the knife through a bedroom door during an argument. Sounds pretty scary to us!
According to defense attorney Kristina Wildeveld, since the October 2012 incident, the family has been in counseling and seems to have reconciled, and Flav says he “loves my son, and my son loves me, too.”
While he could have faced up to 12 years in prison for child endangerment, Flav’s now up for as long as a year in county jail if he violates the terms of his agreement with the court.
“I’m standing here in front of the camera,” Flav said outside of the Las Vegas court. “Not behind bars.”
The final court date that will close the case is scheduled for August 18.
