Former Vampire Diaries Actress Indicted in Ricin Letters Case
A former actress, who had bit parts on The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead, has been indicted and charged with sending letters laced with the poison ricin to President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
According to Reuters, Shannon Guess Richardsonwas accused by a federal grand jury of mailing the letters in a three-count indictment. If convicted, Richardson could receive up to five years in federal prison per charge.
Initially, the actress, who’s pregnant with her fifth child, accused her estranged husband, Nathaniel Richardson, of mailing the ricin letters. He has denied any involvement and does not appear to be a suspect. It now appears Sharon Richardson was attempting to frame her husband, who wanted a divorce. "You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns,” one of the letters read. “Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face.”
Richardson played small roles in several TV shows: a student on The Vampire Diaries, a waitress on Drop Dead Diva, and a zombie in The Walking Dead. She also had bit parts in The Blind Side and Madea’s Big Happy Family.
