Former Voice Star Katrina Parker Previews New Album, In And Out Of The Dark

NBC's The Voice alum, songstress, and TV blogger, Katrina Parker hit the Celebified studios to chat with Ruba about her new album, In and Out of the Dark, available on iTunes.

"It took me a while to figure out my aesthetic," Katrina, who came in second place on Team Adam during Season 2, admits. "I wasn't like a lot of [contestants] on the show who already had a lot of albums out and already had singles ready to come out right after they stepped off the stage."

The Voice, she says, "changed everything" for her, since previously she was doing a piano-driven "esoteric, Tori Amos" kind of sound.

"Being at the show [...] doing songs that utilized my voice," she reflects, "it really helped me open my eyes."

In addition to promoting her amazing-sounding album, Katrina gave us her insider opinion on this season's Voice finalists and let us in on her favorite picks. She especially loves Caroline Pennell, who, for those not following along, is on Team Cee Lo. "It's like going to Disneyland and having a really great experience when you listen to her," she dishes.

Plus, Katrina shares an a-capella snippet of the title track off her new album. It, of course, sounds amazing.
