‘Fuller House’ Premiere Episode Shades Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
While the public hasn’t even seen a single episode of Fuller House yet, the Netflix revival’s team is already having to explain away some Olsen Twins-themed humor.
The sitcom’s pilot episode directly addresses Michelle Tanner’s absence, EW reports.
If that doesn’t hit close enough to home, the entire original cast then gets meta and turns to the camera, staring at the audience for quite a long time.
“It wasn’t meant to be a dig,” said series creator Jeff Franklin during a Television Critics Association panel. “It was meant to be a playful wink.”
Then maybe someone should’ve winked?
Either way, the entire crew has their fingers crossed the twins will show up for Season 2.
“We’re hopeful at some point in the future that they may change their minds and come back and reprise Michelle,” the TV mastermind continued. “We only need one of them…. We still love them, and the door is always open.”
If Mary-Kate and Ashley don’t watch the pilot, then maybe one of them will actually say yes.
Fuller House’s entire first season premieres February 26 on Netflix.
