Glee First Listen: Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night” By Adam Lambert’s Starchild in Episode 4

Get ready to go Gaga over the newest Glee music! Our favorite musical comedy has just released the full audio of Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night,” from November 7’s Glee Season 5, Episode 4: “A Katy or a Gaga.”

It’s the first new episode back after Glee’s post-Cory Monteith tribute hiatus, and the hour will feature exclusively the music of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. This song serves as the official introduction for Adam Lambert’s new character, Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert.

In the scene, Starchild will audition for a spot in Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) new Madonna cover band, alongside Rachel (Lea Michele), Santana (Naya Rivera), and Dani (Demi Lovato). The problem is, Kurt is not impressed with Starchild’s crazy antics. (Swinging around the room, hanging from chandeliers, etc.) In fact, Starchild and Kurt will soon develop a rivalry.

Still, there’s no doubt that Starchild is a talented singer. His flair for showmanship definitely makes him a good performer. And based on spoiler photos, we’d guess he ends up making it in the band after all, despite Kurt’s initial protests.

Take a listen to Adam’s version of “Marry the Night,” then head below and let us know what you think. Did he do Gaga justice? Is this inspired casting on Glee’s part, or are you not particularly enthused about it quite yet?
