‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6: Hodor, and 7 Other Returning Characters

It’s been too long since we’ve seen Hodor (Kristian Nairn) on Game of Thrones. The man of few words (well, one word) last appeared in the Season 4 finale, but it looks like he’ll be back for Season 6.

Bran Stark himself, Isaac Hempstead Wright, shared a photo of himself with Kristian on his Instagram account. Isaac is confirmed to be returning for Season 6 and is known to be shooting in Belfast, so his appearance with Nairn suggests that the previously unannounced Hodor will be returning as well. We have one response to this news: Hodor!

Hodor’s not the only secondary character we either know or strong suspect coming back. Here are five others who look like they’ve made it to Season 6.

Aliser Thorne. Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) nemesis (you know, the one who stabbed him first) will be back to witness Jon’s possible resurrection. Actor Owen Teale confirmed as much to Ahthinorama (via Winter Is Coming) in an interview, and also stated he hopes Jon doesn’t come back. Ouch.

Bronze Yohn Royce. It looks like we’re not done in the Vale yet. After Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) bailed on the snowy castle in Season 5, the return of Lord Declarant Royce (Rupert Vansittart) suggests that at least one of them will be heading back to the Eyrie. Rupert tells Flicks in the City he’ll be in a “couple scenes” in Season 6, so maybe this is the season the Vale finally ditches their isolationist policy?

Bronn. Yay! More Bronn! More Bronn! Although we were never doubting Jerome Flynn’s return as the popular sellsword, it’s still nice to get some confirmation. Maybe he’ll finally get that new wife he’s been promised.

Jaqen H’ghar. Is he dead? Is he alive? We don’t know what’s going on with this Faceless Man, but we do know that Tom Wlaschiha will be back in Season 6 to play him. Or at least play someone with his face.

The Sand Snakes. Sadly, it looks like the three boring bastards of Dorne will be back. Jessica Henwick, who plays Nymeria Sand, confirmed at Comic-Con that she has read the scripts for Season 6. Since the Sand Snakes were widely considered to be one of the worst parts of Season 5, here’s hoping the show has figured out how to better utilize them in Season 6 (no more “bad pussy” lines, please).
