Filming for Game of Thrones Season 6 has been underway for some time now, and while we’ve seen plenty of set photos and heard plenty of rumors, we didn’t have any footage of the new season. Until now.

A sneaky fan was able to nab some footage of a fight scene, and he may have stumbled upon one of the most-anticipated scenes in the entire series. The extremely shaky footage is the type usually reserved for Bigfoot and UFO sightings, but something just as rare may have been captured: Ned Stark!

Fan site Winter Is Coming believes that the footage shows a young Ned Stark (not Sean Bean, unfortunately) fighting Ser Arthur Dayne while bodies litter the ground around them. Then a third man, believed to be Howland Reed, suddenly appears and stabs Ser Arthur in the back.

It’s basically impossible to confirm anything — the video is very far away and very blurry, but we’re inclined to agree with Winter Is Coming’s assessment. The location is, after all, from the set we're pretty sure is going to turn out to be the Tower of Joy, and we don't know what other fight scene would be taking place there.

In the A Song of Ice and Fire books, 17 years before the events of Game of Thrones Ned Stark and six soldiers rode to the Tower of Joy in Dorne to effectively end the war of Robert’s Rebellion. There, they found three members of the Kingsguard guarding the tower, including the renowned Ser Arthur Dayne.

A fight ensued, and only Ned Stark and Howland Reed were left standing. Ned then went into the tower and found his sister, Lyanna, in a “bed of blood.” She makes him promise her something, and then she dies.

Most fans assume that she died giving birth to Jon Snow (Kit Harington), and that the promise was for Ned to raise Jon as his own and not reveal that he was actually Rhaegar Targaryen’s son. If this fight is the fight we think it is, we may actually learn the truth about Jon Snow’s parents in Season 6.

How could this affect the present events of the series? Well, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran Stark, was reportedly spotted filming at the Tower of Joy earlier this week. Many fans think he’ll use his greenseer powers this season to see into the past, and it looks like the show may physically placing him in different locations to showcase this effect.

So there you go. Not only does Jon Snow have a future in Season 6, but it looks like we’re finally going to learn about his past as well. Now if we just had some confirmation on Cleganebowl.
