Game of Thrones creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have shown that they are tremendous television writers through their work on GoT, but now they’re tackling an entirely different sort of show: a sitcom. The pair have penned an upcoming episode of longrunning FX comedy, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, likely to air in the show’s ninth season.

News came via Twitter, when It’s Always Sunny co-creator Rob McElhenney tweeted a picture of himself with Weiss and Benioff and the caption, “If ur wondering whether or not Benioff and Weiss wrote an episode of Sunny this year the answer is, of course, yes.”

While Weiss and Benioff are known more for their work in drama than comedy, the two do manage to work a good number of funny lines into GoT, more often than not coming out of the mouth of one Lannister brother or the other. Also, Benioff did write the screenplay for the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine which, in case you haven’t seen it, is hilarious.

So when you’re watching an episode of next season’s It’s Always Sunny and it has way more sex than you thought they could show on basic cable, plus a beheading of Danny DeVito’s character, now you’ll know why.
