Another Stark bites the dust in Season 3, Episode 9 (“The Rains of Castamere”) of Game of Thrones. Is King of the North Robb Stark (Richard Madden) really dead à la his honorable father Ned Stark?

Warning: This article contains MAJOR spoilers from the A Song of Ice and Fire book series. If you're new to Game of Thrones and want to stay unspoiled, click away now!

Or does he take after his mother and will somehow cheat The Grim Reaper (or whatever passes for death in the Seven Kingdoms)? Read on to find out.

Unlike his mother who also “dies” in Season 3, Episode 9, Robb Stark stays very dead (at least through the books already published in the A Song of Fire and Ice series). If the television series continues to follow the major plot points of the books, after Robb is murdered by Roose Bolton at the Red Wedding, his head will be chopped off and the head of his direwolf, Grey Wind, sewn into its place. We don’t have much television precedence for this sort of thing, but we’re pretty sure there’s no coming back from that. Time to choose another favorite character, Robb Stark fans!
