We’re all familiar with viral marketing campaigns, but we’ve never seen one quite as spectacular as this! Blinkbox, a UK streaming service, has placed a 40-foot-long dragon skull on a beach popularly known as the “Jurassic Coast” in Dorset, England to promote Blinkbox’s release of Game of Thrones Season 3.

The skull, which looks incredibly life-like and is sure to scare the crap out of some tourists, took a full two months to construct. Blinkbox has even released a video showing how it was made, and it looks like a lot of work. These guys really know a good gag when they see one!

The appearance of the skull was influenced by Arya’s scene back in Season 1, where she discovers dragon skulls in the Red Keep. Blinkbox’s Ben Ayers says, “Game of Thrones is easily the most talked about TV show of the moment. We wanted to mark its arrival on Blinkbox with a spectacle every bit as dramatic as this amazing series.” Mission accomplished, that thing looks awesome!

Viewers in the U.K. can watch Season 3 of GoT right now on Blinkbox, while here in the U.S., only HBO subscribers are able to see the show (legally) for at least the next several months. Come on, America! Let’s get some dragon skulls on our beaches already and start streaming!
