In a lengthy Q&A with fans for The Nerd Machine, former (*sob*) Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, who portrayed the late King in the North, Robb Stark, gave some interesting insight on what he really thinks about Robb and the world of GoT. Here are some of our favorite answers.
Regarding Robb's main flaw, Richard says, “Sometimes he thinks with the wrong part of his body.” That did get him into a lot of trouble, didn’t it?
When asked who Robb would like to haunt if he came back to life, Richard reveals, “It would have to be Joffrey, just because we all hate him.” No argument here.
Richard also describes his recent recording of the DVD commentary for the Red Wedding episode with Michelle Fairley (Cat Stark) and director David Nutter, saying, “By the end of it it’s just sobbing noises — we’re all just crying our eyes out watching the Red Wedding.” Great, like we didn’t cry enough watching it without the commentary, now we have this to look forward to.
When asked what he thinks the Stark slogan, “Winter is Coming,” means to Robb, Richard jokes, “I’m sorry, I just have really inappropriate things in my head,” before giving his serious answer: “Things are going to get terrible.” We would say that’s a pretty accurate interpretation, especially for Robb.
And of course, the question on everyone’s mind: Now that Robb is out of the running, who would Richard like to see win the Iron Throne? Richard replies, “I want a combination of Jon Snow and Daenerys,” which draws an ecstatic reaction from the crowd, save for a lone dissenter who shouts “NOOO!” When pressed, the dissenting voice says she roots for Stannis Baratheon, to which Richard shouts out in disbelief, “STAN-NIS?!” It’s literally a perfect exchange.
