The world of Westeros is coming to life again: Filming for Game of Thrones Season 4 is underway in Iceland, and will continue until August 1st.

This news seems to mark a change of strategy for GoT’s presence in Iceland. In the past, the show had shot in the country during the winter, for scenes involving the Wall and what lies beyond. By filming in the summer they seem to be looking for a lush, green, countryside feel. So what characters would require that type of setting?

In the A Song of Ice and Fire book series on which the show is based, both Arya and Brienne spend portions of their stories wandering the countryside, and summertime Iceland certainly evokes a look of endless Westeros terrain.

In the latter half of A Storm of Swords, Arya wanders with the Hound for a bit before striking off on her own to parts unknown (well, she doesn’t know where she’s going anyway). Meanwhile, in A Feast for Crows Brienne goes out in search of Sansa, and meets lots of interesting people on the road; because she doesn't have much left to do in A Storm of Swords, it's possible she'll start her search in Season 4.

Indeed, sharp-eyed fans have spotted both Gwendoline Christie (Brienne) and Maisie Williams (Arya) on the streets of Iceland, so unless they’re there for moral support of their castmates (unlikely), it looks like our theory can be upgraded to law.
