More changes are afoot for Game of Thrones Season 4. The Mountain has been recast... Again. We know this character has some interesting stuff coming up, and since Season 3 ended, we’ve been a little worried about just who would be playing him, since the character didn’t appear in Season 3 and was portrayed by two different actors in the show’s first two seasons: Conan Stevens in Season 1 and Ian Whyte in Season 2, respectively.

Well, it looks like our worrying days are over. Icelandic strongman Thor Bjornsson has been cast as Gregor Clegane in Season 4, the actor confirmed via Twitter recently. Thor is certainly an imposing figure and should make a great Mountain. According to his bio on The World’s Strongest Man website (because he is literally one of the world’s strongest men, and is Iceland’s strongest man two years running) Thor stands 6’9” and weighs a hefty 419 lbs! Though he falls a little short of the book’s rendition of the Mountain, who is a difficult-to-find-in-real-life eight feet tall, Thor certainly is big enough to dwarf everyone he comes across in King’s Landing.

While Thor doesn’t have a ton of acting experience the only entry on his IMDB page is for when he portrayed himself in the televised World’s Strongest Man competition we’re still super excited for his performance. The Mountain basically just needs to be big, scary, and able to yell a lot, and it looks like Thor meets all the criteria. Plus, his name is THOR!
