Unfortunately we still have several months to go before Game of Thrones Season 4 premieres in Spring 2014, but the HBO hit is already adding to the already large cast in preparation for the upcoming season.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Icelandic indie band Sigur Ros has been tapped for an appearance on Season 4, although the exact nature of the group’s role is still unknown.

Enlisting musicians and bands for guest spots has become a bit of a tradition with GoT. In previous seasons The National and The Hold Steady have all appeared on the show to perform songs inspired by lyrics in George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire saga, and members Snow Patrol and Coldplay have made guest appearances.

Sigur Ros, a longtime favorite of the GoT creative team is made up members Jón Þór Birgisson, Georg Hólm, and Orri Páll Dýrason, all of whom are currently on the show’s set in Croatia.

Are you familiar with Sigur Ros? If so, do you think their sound fits with Game of Thrones? Tell us your thoughts below!
