Game of Thrones has finally cast what looks to be their last major addition for Season 4. Styr, Magnar of Thenn, a ruthless wildling clan leader, will be portrayed by Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov.

The casting of Styr fulfills A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin’s earlier promise that Styr will be involved in Season 4. The casting of Yuri in the role also puts to bed the rumors that Joseph Gatt would be filling the role of Styr, due to his similar appearance to the Styr of the novels. We now must begin guessing all over again just what character Joseph will be portraying in the upcoming season.

So who is this character? We've got the rundown based on what happens in the books.

In the book series, Styr is the ruthless leader of the Thenn, a group of war-like wildlings with their own language who run around in bronze armor. Styr leads an attack on Castle Black, and was leading the group that included Jon Snow when Jon fled. This role was fulfilled last season by Tormund Giantsbane, so it will be interesting to see how Styr is introduced next season.

As for Yuri, he may not be well-known in the West, but he’s a very established film actor in Russia and should be an excellent addition to the cast.
