Game of Thrones is close to wrapping up filming for Season 4, but they’re still apparently building whole new sets for what’s looking to be an especially epic season, even by Game of Thrones standards.

Winter Is Coming has unveiled new set photos from Northern Ireland, in the rocky area of Lady Hill Quarry in County Antrim. The photos depict lots of fake snow being sprayed about the area, and where there’s snow, there’s normally Jon Snow. Other photos seem to show men of the Night’s Watch, which reinforces the idea that these sets probably have to do with the storyline of Ned Stark’s bastard.

One photo also shows a lot of smoke being generated, so might this be a scene from the big battle at Castle Black? Obviously there’s no castle in the photo, but the set could be added with CGI later. There’s a lot going on at the Night’s Watch next season, with Jon’s old enemy Alliser Thorne returning, Mance Rayder’s attack on the Wall, Stannis showing up, and Jon Snow being named Lord Commander. No wonder they’re still filming scenes for the Wall, there’s so much to fit in they probably won’t even finish until Season 4 begins airing!
