Now that we finally have learned that Game of Thrones Season 4 will debut on April 6, 2014, we can’t help but salivate over the prospect of a trailer for the new season. But when can we expect to see one?

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait for winter’s thaw to glimpse some new footage. The trailer for Season 4 will premiere this Sunday (!) January 12 on HBO, right before the series premiere of True Detective.

While we don’t know exactly what we can expect from the new trailer, we hope it expands upon some of what we’ve seen in HBO’s first look at the new season, such as Tyrion being in chains and the wedding of Joffrey and Margaery. Season 4 also features a bunch of new faces, as is the norm with this show, so we hope to see glimpses of new characters like Oberyn Martell, Mace Tyrell, or the wildling chief Styr, and also some of the new actors in old roles, like Michiel Huisman as Daario and Thor Bjornsson as The Mountain.

For those of you who don’t have HBO, don’t fret. Game of Thrones is the most-pirated show ever, so we imagine multiple copies of the trailer will be online within five minutes of airing on TV, so keep your eyes peeled! Not that we encourage associating with pirates, of course.
