In addition to adding several new characters to the fold for Season 4, Game of Thrones has also recast several existing roles, the most prominent among them being Dany’s budding love interest, Daario Naharis. Now that we’ve gotten our first glimpse at the new Daario (played by Michiel Huisman), what do we think of his look?
While the new Daario is still lacking the blue hair, three-pronged beard, and gold mustache of the Daario described in the A Song of Ice and Fire books, he at least has a beard, which is a step up from the previous baby-faced Daario, Ed Skrein.
The beard goes a long way to giving this new Daario a rough look, which is important because he’s a very dangerous man. We’re confident the new guy could handle the old one in a fight without even messing up his well-groomed facial hair, so that earns him points in our book.
Also, the new Daario is still pretty easy on the eyes, which is another key factor he needs to possess if we’re going to believe that he can draw the attention of the show’s number one stunner, Daenerys Targaryen. We’ll have to wait for the season to begin to see the chemistry between the two, but we have faith in this new and (possibly) improved Daario!
