Game of Thrones has a bit of a reputation for having its actors perform sans clothing, but has received some flak for most of said actors being female. So, should the show balance that out by showing more of the male cast members’ members? At least one of the show’s stars thinks so!

The Guardian recently asked Carice Van Houten, who portrays the (often nude) red priestess Melisandre, if there should be more male nudity on the show. “Hell yeah!” Carice replied. “Of course it has to be functional and it mostly is. But in general that's what I like about the show, not the sex per se but the nudity is part of life.” She’s got a point. We’re born naked, we might as well be on TV naked!

Carice goes on to mock the double-standard of violence being considered more acceptable in entertainment than sex, saying, “We can see machine guns but we can’t see f--king — sorry — people? I really don’t get, I have to make a point here. Who sleeps with their bra on? I mean, sorry if that’s a Dutch approach but I think we need to get used to it. It’s part of life.”

Season 4 of Game of Thrones premieres April 6 at 9 pm EST on HBO, so we’ll have to wait until then to see how much nudity made it into this season!
