Khal Drogo may be no more (our sun and stars forever!) but the actor who so perfectly captured his Dothraki prowess is, thankfully, alive and well.

Jason Momoa has gone from his days leading a khalasar to fronting a brand new show called The Red Road not to be confused with the Red Wedding, the Red Viper, or the Red Woman, mind you.

In the SundanceTV series, Jason plays Phillip Kopus to actor Martin Henderson’s Sheriff Harold Jensen. Sheriff Jensen is trying to keep his family together while also dealing with clashes between his hometown and the neighboring Ramapo Mountain Indians, of which we’re guessing Phillip is a prominent member.

We got a sneak peek of the action, which all takes place in a town just outside of New York City, in a new trailer for the series. “Two worlds. Two men. One secret pact will tear them apart.” Throw in some unhatched dragon eggs and sounds like we’re right back in Game of Thrones!

If the trailer didn’t whet your appetite enough to watch the series, which is on new Thursday at 9 p.m., check out a one-minute teaser clip. Jason, who is unfortunately wearing a shirt, appears in a dimly lit building. He opens a bedroom door to find a man and a woman asleep in each other’s arms. What follows is pretty chilling and not just because Jason’s dropped the Dothraki.
