Arya Stark has had some pretty insane things happen to her over the course of three seasons on Game of Thrones, but she’s always managed to keep her cool. Maybe that’s just because she’s never worn an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset before.
During an appearance at the GoT exhibit at South by Southwest, Maisie Williams, who portrays Arya on the show, tried out the “Ascend the Wall 4D Experience” attraction, where participants strap on a virtual reality headset and are transported 700 feet up the famous Wall of the Night’s Watch by a rickety elevator. Maisie, who is not a fan of heights, absolutely freaked out during the exhibit before taking off the headset prematurely.
It was all in good fun though, as Maisie tells Mashable about the experience, “It was absolutely amazing because it’s not just like the Oculus and the headphones, they’ve got like the wind machine and the floor moves as well and it’s really scary and I thought it was gonna be fun and it was, but it was really scary as well.” Oh, Maisie, she doesn’t get scared by the Hound, but a wind machine? Forget it!
Maisie’s adventures as Arya pick up again on April 6, when Season 4 of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO.
