Long live Queen Madge!
Everyone looks better with a long white-blonde Dany wig and two dragons on their shoulders. This is known. Madonna is apparently a Game of Thrones fan, since she dressed as Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) on March 15/16 to celebrate the Jewish holiday Purim. "Happy Purim!!!!! All Hail All Queens! ##certainty" -Madonna," she wrote when sharing this picon Facebook.
Purim commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from a plot to destroy them, as recorded in the Bible's Book of Esther. The plan to kill all the Jews was thwarted by Mordecai and his cousin and adopted daughter Esther, who had become the Queen of Persia. Purim is celebrated as a day of feasting and celebration.
Madonna, 55, was raised Catholic but she's been following Kabbalah since the 1990s. Anyway, she looks like a worthy Targaryen in this costume; she should keep it handy for the GoT Season 4 premiere, which is right around the corner: April 6, 2014. Here's the official synopsis of the premiere episode, "Two Swords": "Tyrion welcomes a guest to King’s Landing. At Castle Black, Jon Snow finds himself unwelcome. Dany is pointed to Meereen, the mother of all slave cities. Arya runs into an old friend."
Do you wish you had a Dany costume like this, to wear as you cheer on our freedom-fighting "Mhysa"?
