On Game of Thrones, Jon Snow has always been the strong, silent type, but in Season 4 we can expect a more vocal bastard according to Kit Harington, who portrays the Night’s Watchman.

“What's going to be quite interesting this year is seeing how brutal Jon becomes,” Kit tells Zap2it. “I think his time with the Wildlings has really affected him, and it's a profound effect ... but also he comes back with a mission where he knows the Wildlings are going to attack and he's got to start leading, because no one else will. And to lead he has to start speaking, and he's never said more than three lines. You see him make speeches this season. It's quite mad. It was quite weird talking as him. He usually absorbs things; he never actually talks. That's the major difference, and that's what changed in him since he came back from the Wildlings.”

Showrunner David Benioff expands on Jon Snow’s new role in Season 4, explaining its crucial to the show’s future. “Jon now has a following among the younger brothers of the Watch,” David reveals to TV Guide. “And his role as a leader is crucial in setting up the series’ endgame ... Season 4 is the pivot. Whether we go seven or eight years, we’re smack-dab in the middle now.”

Jon Snow becoming a take-charge leader in season 4? Ned Stark would be proud!
