For those fans of Game of Thrones who have also read George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series and take pleasure in knowing what’s going to happen on the show every week, Maisie Williams has some bad news.

“This year there's a few key plot twists and the way [the show's] writers go about it is different than the books,” Maisie, who portrays Arya Stark on the show, tells Entertainment Weekly. “I think fans of the books will be a little confused, which I think is fantastic because it keeps it interesting for everyone.”

There were already a few changes in the premiere, including the decision to have Arya kill Polliver instead of the Hound, who killed him in the books. “[Arya]'s definitely kind of changing and putting on a more brutal approach to things,” Maisie reveals to the Huffington Post. “It's a lot more risky, as well, she's not afraid of death.”

With next week’s episode focusing on the royal wedding, we’ll have to see what creative liberties the show takes with the source material. Though many book fans are probably hoping they don’t change things around too much...
