We can tell by the promo that Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 2 ("The Lion and the Rose") is going to feature the royal wedding of Joffrey and Margaery. Weddings are notorious for making people cry, but according to E!, it’s Tyrion who’ll leave us in tears by the end of the episode. Huh?

Is Tyrion going to give a heartfelt speech at the wedding and then embrace Joffrey in a gentle uncle/nephew hug? That doesn’t seem very likely.

If we had to guess, we bet the waterworks will have something to do with Shae. The premiere did some pretty solid foreshadowing on what’s going to happen to Shae, with a spy from Cersei spotting Shae leaving Tyrion in a huff, and that same spy then later reporting to Cersei that she had something “important” to spill. Does this mean Cersei will finally get her revenge on Tyrion for his sending of her daughter Myrcella Baratheon to Dorne in Season 2?

We’re used to Tyrion making us laugh, but tear-inducing moments are part of his repertoire as well. There was the tale of his ill-fated first marriage from Season 1, the first time he sees Shae after his disfigurement at the Battle of Blackwater, and basically any scene he’s shared with Tywin. Peter Dinklage’s performance as Tyrion is so great he could make us cry in our sleep, so we’re both looking forward to and dreading whatever he has in store for us in Episode 2.
