Given the history of weddings on Game of Thrones (cough, Red Wedding, cough), many fans are wondering if more death is headed our way when the royal wedding goes down on Season 4, Episode 2 ("The Lion and the Rose").

Well, we haven't seen the episode, but we have read the A Song of Ice and Fire books, which give us a pretty good idea of what to expect...

The royal wedding of Joffrey and Margaery is going to be quite the spectacle, complete with performers, lavish feasts, and... wait for it... death! So, who is it that’s going to die? We think the answer will please you.

At the wedding, Joffrey is going to be more of an ass than he’s ever been. He’s going to get super drunk and become very confrontational. The main object of his harassment is going to be none other than his uncle Tyrion, who doesn’t exactly take the abuse sitting down. Tyrion’s never been one to stand down from Joff, and at the wedding their bickering will reach a boiling point.

The height of the madness occurs when Joffrey forces Tyrion to be his cupbearer, filling his wine glass at his request. Eventually, while guzzling wine that Tyrion has poured for him, Joffrey begins to choke. His face turns purple as he gasps for air and pandemonium ensues around him. And then... Joffrey dies!

Joffrey’s cause of death is quickly determined to be poison, and Tyrion is arrested as the number one suspect since he was the one pouring Joff’s wine, and also because there was no love lost between the two. Tyrion is innocent though, the poison actually comes from the necklace Ser Dontos gifted to Sansa during the Season 4 premiere, though Sansa doesn’t know this, and Sansa escapes the wedding during the chaos. It will eventually be revealed that the poisoning was part of an elaborate plot by Littlefinger involving the Tyrells because... well, who knows why Littlefinger does anything. The important thing is that Joffrey dies! At his own wedding! It’s going to be amazing.
