After the death of King Joffrey in Season 4, Episode 2 of Game of Thrones, we can’t help but wonder who will be the next character to shuffle off this mortal coil, possibly in the next episode.

If we had to pick one character to be offed in Episode 3, it would be Shae. Shae’s demise has been foreshadowed strongly in both of the episodes that have aired so far this season. In the premiere, we see a spy find out about Shae and then report to Cersei Lannister about it.

Then, in Episode 2, Varys informs Tyrion of this, reminding the audience that Tywin threatened to hang the next whore he catches Tyrion with. We also see Cersei point Shae out to Tywin at the wedding, and Tywin says he wants her brought to the Tower of the Hand.

Finally, Tyrion, who can see the writing on the wall, “White Fangs” Shae into leaving with Bronn for Pentos. When Tyrion asks Bronn about it, the sellsword acts rather dodgy, implying that he may have been followed before half-heartedly assuring Tyrion that everything’s fine.

Here’s what we think happened: There’s no way Shae is on that boat. We believe she was intercepted by Tywin’s men, and is currently awaiting Tywin’s justice. Bronn was probably paid off to keep his silence, which would not at all be out of character for him. As he’s said many times, his friendship with Tyrion is monetarily based. Even though we think Bronn does genuinely like Tyrion, he’s still a slimy sellsword and would turn on anyone for enough money.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see a scene between Tywin and Shae in Episode 3, possibly resulting in her immediate death or maybe saving her to use against Tyrion later. We’ll find out on Sunday.
