Perhaps the most tragic character on Game of Thrones is Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). Forced to live with father’s enemies, the Starks, as a boy, he eventually came to think of the Starks as his family... until he turned on them in an attempt to please his father, who hates him for no reason. Then he was captured, tortured, and, well, you know the rest. But according to Alfie Allen, who portrays Theon, things are going to get worse for “Reek” in a different way in season 4.

“It gets dark,” Alfie tells Entertainment Weekly regarding Season 4. “I don’t think people will find it as hard to watch this year. It depends what kind of person you are. It’s more of a mental torture than it is physical. It’s daunting as an actor. I have to do more telling of the story with my eyes than with words.”

Of course, that doesn’t mean Theon won’t still scream every now and then. “There is some hoarse-throat moments for me,” Alfie reveals. “So look forward to that.” While we don’t know ultimately what’s going to happen to Theon at this point, neither does Alfie. But he declares what he would like to happen, “In my mind, anything goes,” Alfie says. “People who get brought down to earth tend to get humbled, so maybe for us to see more evidence of that would be great.” We’d say Reek is already pretty humble, but we’ll have to wait and see how much lower he can go!
