Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 3 saw the death of Ser Dontos after he delivered Sansa to Littlefinger; certainly not as high-calibre of a death as we saw in Episode 2 with Joffrey, but still a death nonetheless. So keeping in mind this season’s slogan, “All men must die,” who should we expect to kick the bucket in Season 4, Episode 4 (“Oathkeeper”)?

The official synopsis for the episode is as follows: “Dany balances justice and mercy. Jaime tasks Brienne with his honor. Jon secures volunteers while Bran, Jojen, Meera, and Hodor stumble on shelter.”

Jaime and Brienne both seem safe judging by this description, as does Jon, though he may be getting volunteers for something dangerous that could result in the death of more minor Night’s Watch characters like Pyp or Grenn. We don’t think any of Bran’s crew are going to be offed; stumbling on shelter seems to suggest that they’re catching a break, though maybe the shelter holds some danger for them (Craster’s Keep, perhaps?).

We think the best chance of death comes to us via Dany’s storyline. If Dany is balancing justice and mercy, it seems likely she’s pondering killing some people; most likely the Meereenese who were responsible for using dead slave children as sign posts. Remember in one of the trailers for Season 4, Ser Barristan tells Dany sometimes it’s best to answer injustice with mercy, and Dany replies she will answer “injustice with justice.” Sure seems to us that some Meereenese masters are in for a rough time next week!
