On Game of Thrones, one of the most mysterious characters is Jojen Reed (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Bran’s companion and biggest supporter. Jojen has come to Bran in dreams, he has some prophetic abilities, has seizures, and seems to know a weird amount about Bran’s powers and destiny. However, we still haven’t learned much about Jojen or how much he actually knows.
Thomas Sangster, who portrays Jojen, tries to shed a little light about what the strange kid knows. “It’s hard to tell how much he actually knows,” Thomas says of Jojen to Sky Atlantic. “He’s constantly hinting at stuff ... I think he knows that it’s very important that Bran does whatever he has to do, or gets to wherever he has to get, in order to fulfill what he is destined to fulfill.” Wow, Thomas is almost as cryptic as Jojen!
When asked if Jojen actually knows what Bran’s destiny is, Thomas reveals, “I think to a certain extent, yes. And you see it a bit more in Season 4, the viewers get to actually see a glimpse of what Jojen sees when he has these sights ... it only gives like a snippet, but I think Jojen only gets snippets.” So, we’ll get to see one of Jojen’s visions in an upcoming episode? That should help shed a little light on his character.
One of the weirdest things in Bran’s storyline has always been the Three-Eyed Raven, and Thomas does his best to explain what it represents. “It’s almost like a CCTV camera. It’s a way of this guy being able to keep a track on Bran and our journey, and kind of view us and see us.” So a “guy” is using the Three-Eyed Raven to spy on Bran? That’s... creepy.
