Tyrion will have a champion, but it won’t be Jamie or Bronn. In the books, Tyrion asks Bronn but he declines. Why? For a couple reasons: first off, Cersei has paid him off handsomely, and second, Bronn’s afraid he’ll lose since Cersei has chosen the Mountain, the Hound’s enormous and scary brother, as her champion, someone one-handed Jaime would also be an idiot to oppose. So who does that leave left for Tyrion?

Luckily for the “Lion of Lannister," there’s one established fighter in King’s Landing who’s aching for a shot at the Mountain: Oberyn Martell. Oberyn approaches Tyrion and asks him to name him as his champion so that the Mountain might finally receive justice for what he did to Oberyn’s sister. Oberyn taking the side of a Lannister, didn’t see that one coming!
