For about as long as we can remember on Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) goal has been to make it to Westeros and sit upon the Iron Throne. Her travels haven’t really taken her close to that goal, at least not geographically, but they have helped her see that there is a lot more to her world than just getting to the Seven Kingdoms. Now that she is Queen of Meereen and getting her first taste of what it’s like to rule, she’s getting even more of an education on what kinds of decisions she needs to be making.

“It’s certainly exhausting [for Dany] to hear all of her supplicants. She saw the world in black and white for a very long time, and it's starting to look a lot grayer and she's going to need to learn how to deal with that,” GoT writer Bryan Cogman explains to the Hollywood Reporter. “It’s one of the great elements of George[R. R. Martin]’s story and it’s something we really want to explore in the series and will continue to explore — that the story doesn’t end when you storm the castle.”

So we get to explore more of Dany listening to a long line of supplicants... yay? The struggle is real.
